Terms of Use

Last updated: 28 September 2026
These terms govern the use of ReadIM, including creating and joining groups, private messaging and sharing content.

1. Purpose of ReadIM

ReadIM is a service for creating groups and conversations. A member can create or join groups, take part in discussions, manage contacts and use private messaging features according to the service settings and the settings of the members concerned.

2. Account and access

Members are responsible for the information they provide and for the use of their account. They must keep their access credentials confidential and report any unauthorized use they become aware of.

Creating an account does not automatically join a group. A group can be created, joined by invitation or, when configured accordingly, found through ReadIM search tools.

3. Groups and administration

Each group is a separate space. Its administrator may define its name, access mode and certain information or categories used in the group. Administrators must use their management tools fairly and in accordance with these terms.

4. Content and behaviour

Members remain responsible for texts, photos, videos, voice messages, profile information and other content they publish or send. In particular, ReadIM must not be used to:

5. Private messaging, contacts and blocking

Contacts are personal reference points and do not by themselves guarantee acceptance of every exchange. The ability to start or continue a private conversation depends on the rules and settings applied by ReadIM.

A member can block another person. Blocking may prevent private messages, media, calls or notifications from the blocked account from being received, without notifying that account.

6. Photos, videos, voice messages and location

Public media in a group may stop being available when the corresponding messages are deleted or leave retained history. A profile gallery linked to a group is therefore not permanent backup storage: it only references public media that is still available in that group.

Some private media may be presented as ephemeral or require recipient approval. Location is only sent when a member voluntarily uses the relevant feature. Members should check what they share before sending.

7. Audio or video calls

ReadIM may offer calls using a direct connection between devices when technically available. Call quality, availability or continuity cannot be guaranteed on every network, browser or device.

8. Moderation, reports and safety

ReadIM may apply filters, warnings, limitations, content removals or temporary access restrictions when necessary for safety, compliance with service rules, member protection or technical operation. Automated systems do not replace a member's responsibility for what they send.

Reporting features must be used in good faith for genuinely problematic content or behaviour. Repeated unfounded reports may temporarily restrict ordinary reporting. Serious categories provided by the service remain available. Intentionally false, malicious or abusive reporting may lead to longer restrictions.

When content is reported, ReadIM may retain the item concerned and limited context needed for review. Moderation measures are intended to be proportionate to severity, context and repeat behaviour.

9. Child safety and sexual exploitation

ReadIM explicitly prohibits all child sexual abuse and exploitation, and any content or behaviour that sexualizes, solicits, manipulates, threatens or endangers a minor. This includes child sexual abuse material, grooming, sextortion, requests for sexual content involving a minor and any attempt to facilitate such conduct.

Concerning content, profiles or behaviour can be reported directly in ReadIM using the “Child safety” reason. This serious reason remains available even when ordinary reporting is temporarily restricted. ReadIM may remove content, restrict or suspend the account involved, preserve evidence strictly necessary for review, and make reports to competent authorities or organizations when required by law.

For any child-safety question or alert: support@readim.com.

10. Availability and changes

ReadIM evolves regularly. Features may be added, modified, limited or removed. Some features may depend on the browser, PWA, network, device permissions or third-party services. Temporary interruptions may also be necessary for maintenance or incidents.

11. Free access and future paid features

Account creation and creating or joining a group are currently presented as free in the interface. ReadIM may later offer optional paid features or uses; any paid feature must be clearly identified before purchase or commitment.

12. Deletion and suspension

An account or access may be restricted or suspended in cases of abuse, breach of these terms, security risk or legal obligation. When account deletion is offered, its effects apply according to the service's technical and legal constraints.

13. Personal data

The processing of personal data, cookies, audience measurement and possible advertising are described in the privacy policy.

14. Applicable law

These terms are intended to govern the use of ReadIM in accordance with applicable rules. Mandatory rights available to users under law are not excluded by these terms.
